The Annual Fund Manager plays a significant and collaborative role, along with the Chief Philanthropy Officer, the Philanthropy Team and other J staff, in the creation and implementation of fundraising plans and activities that align with the J’s strategic direction. The Annual Fund Manager provides organization, vision, execution and follow-up of annual donor support including relationship manager assignments, roadmaps and evaluation of goals, direct mail appeals, donor relations and prospect research. Duties include communicating with donors, managing a small portfolio and collaborating with the Philanthropy Team and other J staff to drive, monitor and execute the philanthropy plans.
Responsibilities:
As a member of the Philanthropy Team, actively participate in strategic planning and execution of all fundraising activities and programs.
Work with the Philanthropy Team, the Marketing Team and program staff to create and execute a calendar of annual fund solicitation and stewardship activities including road maps with relationship managers, direct mail appeals, sponsorship appeals, Rosh Hashanah cards, the Annual Report, impact stories, etc.
Coordinate the annual fund plan with the external calendar as well as internal J events and activities.
Responsible for the relationship manager process including a small portfolio of donors.
Meet with assigned prospects, donors and constituents to cultivate, solicit and steward for sustained and increased support.
Supervise the Development Associate and is back up for entering gifts.
Responsible for managing and reporting metrics for annual giving including the “Where we are” chart, Philanthropy dashboards, year over year data and other requested data. Incorporate current data to enhance and strengthen fundraising programs and activities.
Plan, organize and execute community-wide annual giving days if determined part of the strategy
Conduct preliminary research to identify individual donors, maintain a pipeline of prospects for solicitation and create solicitation strategies.
Generate correspondence for annual fund donors, beginning with the initial solicitation through cultivation and donor acknowledgement.

BA/BS degree required.
3 to 5 years of increasingly responsible development/relationship experience with a solid understanding of fundraising concepts and demonstrated success in annual campaigns, corporate sponsorship, direct mail and special events.
Must be able to organize and implement strategic plans (financial, business development, marketing, branding, etc.), work independently as well as part of a team, follow through on assignments and prioritize competing tasks.
Superior organization, communication, social and writing skills along with a talent for creating communal collaborations and partnerships are required.
Some Judaic knowledge and a deep commitment to the J mission and vision are necessary.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite is required (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, Access).
Proficiency using Salesforce and online event platforms or a demonstrated ability to learn new software programs in support of one’s work is strongly desired.
