Job Description

We are a mission-driven mental health organization offering innovative, experiential therapy rooted in the healing power of connection — with self, others, and horses. Our model integrates evidence-based practices with equine-assisted therapy to support individuals dealing with trauma, substance use, stress, and mental health challenges. We work primarily with populations experiencing PTSD, anxiety, depression, recovery and prevention needs, and substance use disorders (SUD).

Position Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate, independently licensed therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate values experiential, relational work and is either experienced in or open to working with horses as co-facilitators in the therapeutic process. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact through non-traditional therapy in a natural, peaceful setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide individual and group therapy to clients using experiential and equine-assisted methods.

Collaborate with our interdisciplinary team to create individualized treatment plans.

Maintain timely clinical documentation in compliance with licensing and ethical standards.

Participate in staff meetings, training, and supervision as appropriate.

Uphold trauma-informed and culturally responsive practices.

Qualifications:

Must hold an independent clinical license (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or equivalent) in the state of [Insert State].

Experience working with trauma, PTSD, recovery, and/or SUD populations.

Passion for experiential and nature-based modalities.

Prior experience with horses or equine-assisted therapy is a plus but not required (training can be provided).

Excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to collaborative care.

Preferred but not required:

Certification in equine-assisted therapy (e.g., Eagala, PATH, Natural Lifemanship, etc.).

Training in EMDR, IFS, somatic practices, or other trauma-focused approaches.
