Position: CNC Plasma Operator

Shift: M-F 7:30am -4pm

Pay: $16-18/hr DOE

Location: Goldsboro, NC

Plasma Operator – Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Plasma Operator to join our welding and fabrication team. The ideal candidate will operate CNC plasma cutting machines to cut metal parts according to precise specifications and drawings. Responsibilities include setting up and calibrating equipment, selecting correct materials, maintaining cut quality, and inspecting finished pieces for accuracy. Experience with metal types, reading blueprints, and basic welding knowledge is a plus. Safety, precision, and attention to detail are essential in this role.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED (technical training or certification preferred)

Proven experience operating CNC plasma cutting machines

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications

Familiarity with CNC software and programming basics (e.g., G-code, CAD/CAM)

Knowledge of metal types, thicknesses, and cutting speeds

Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail

Basic math and measurement skills (using calipers, tape measures, etc.)

Ability to lift 50+ lbs and stand for extended periods

Commitment to workplace safety and proper PPE use

Good communication and teamwork skills

Willingness to work flexible hours or shifts, if needed
