Conduit Direct Group is the first HDPE plastic extrusion company in Iowa to focus solely on manufacturing conduit for the telecom industry. Owned and operated by 3 plastic industry veterans, we are looking for a positive, engaged, hardworking, team-oriented individual who to join our team as an Extrusion Line Operator with an easy path for advancement in the near future with the right work ethic and attitude.

JOB SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

· Minimum of High school diploma or GED

· Previous manufacturing experience preferred

· Requires the ability to read and write, follow verbal and written instructions, use basic math, and take accurate measurements, make calculations and use hand tools

· Forklift experience preferred

· Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills

· Attention to detail in a manufacturing environment

· Team-oriented with a positive attitude

· Communicate in a courteous and positive manner

· Ability to lift 50 pounds

· Ability to stand/walk for up to 8-10 hours

· Strong commitment to safety, quality, productivity and customers

· Must have the ability to wear personal protective equipment including ear plugs, safety glasses and gloves.

· Be able to perform lead operator duties with minimal supervision.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Promotes safety by leading by example, participating in safety engagement and encouraging team members to work safe each day and to follow all safety guidelines/procedures

· Operate the machines; this includes start-up, changeover, shutdown and daily operation.

· Startup take-up winder and maintain winder throughout the day to maintain a neat roll of conduit

· Observe and monitor machine for defects during operation

· Use the 5Y Process to troubleshoot issues

· Identify and correct problems on machine. Notify appropriate personnel of any operational issues.

· Oversee work of production teammates

· Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.

· Follows Company safety procedures

· Physical requirements include standing/walking for up to 8-10 hours, lifting, kneeling, climbing ladders, reaching out and grasping
