Emergency Nurse

Job Description

Key Requirements:

Experience: CVICU experience required; experience with NextStage CVVH machine required

Preferred Experience: Cardiothoracic surgery and/or acuity adaptable unit experience preferred

Licensure: WI Nursing License or compact license from permanent address state required

Certifications: BLS & ACLS (American Heart Association ONLY) required

Telemetry: Basic arrhythmia experience required; must pass Telemetry exam before starting (not applicable for clinic positions)

Inpatient RN Travelers: Must have 2 years of acute care experience in the specialty within the last 3 years

Responsibilities:

Care Delivery: Provide high-quality care for patients requiring cardiac and thoracic surgeries, heart/lung transplants, and medical devices on an acuity adaptable unit

Team Collaboration: Work as part of a team delivering specialized care in cardiothoracic surgery and transplant care

Patient and Family Support: Ensure care is delivered with technological expertise and a commitment to patient and family needs

Floating: Travelers may be required to float to other units or locations based on staffing needs

Additional Requirements:

COVID-19 Vaccine: Unknown, Flu Vaccine Required (Medical/Religious exemptions only)

Floating Policy: Travelers are the first to float; may have shifts in multiple units depending on staffing needs

Orientation: UWH orientation is held bi-weekly; travelers will follow instructions provided in the welcome letter

Telemetry Exam: A pass/fail telemetry exam will be required with strict passing criteria (80% required)

Submittal Requirements: Must have active licensure at the time of submittal; no references required

RTO: Must be reviewed and approved by the hiring manager (usually no more than 2 weeks off)Company Description
