SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Project Assistant is responsible for supporting the Production Department Team(s) in successful procurement, implementation, and close out of custom landscape installations. It is expected of this position to elevate into a Project Engineer position within the first two to three years. Beyond that and depending upon desire, skillset, & performance, achieve the level of Associate Project Manager or maybe even a Project Manager.

RESPONSIBILITES:

· Save the Project Manager(s) & Project Engineer(s) time by supporting them as needed with day-to-day tasks & functions.

· Support the Production team members in planning, scheduling, & coordinating resources as needed.

· Perform plan take-offs, material lists, pricing quotes, generate purchase orders, and coordinating material deliveries as needed to support the successful award of projects for your Production team.

· Help coordinate & schedule internal company resources (crews, deliveries, pick-ups, equipment, special tools, trash hauling, etc.) as maybe required from time to time.

· Assist with generating weekly project updates for the various clients

· Attend internal construction meetings to stay informed on all project statuses

· Scheduling and coordinating subcontractors, suppliers and other outside teams from time to time

· Meet on project sites multiple times a month to observe, learn, maintain awareness, and develop skills related to field operations as well as monitor progresses and budget compliancy.

· Work with the project teams on creating and submitting changes orders as needed as well as processing time and material tickets / work orders on a timely basis.

· Assist the project teams with tracking costs against estimates / budgets.

· Always give your best in ensuring the highest level of customer service and client satisfaction.

· Generating documentation related to projects, including change orders, billings, field production tracking, purchase orders, Requests for Information (RFIs), Requests for Change Order (RFCs), etc…

· Building effective working relationships with clients and internal Crestview team members.

· Be professional and responsible with a high degree of follow-up and always follow thru.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

· Two (2) to three (3) years of landscape management experience.

· Ability to read construction plans is a plus.

· Proactive and self-motivated with a strong attention to detail; able to work independently with minimal supervision.

· Ability to accept direction from multiple sources and effectively manage time to ensure deadlines are met.

· Ability to coordinate, prioritize and manage multiple tasks, and set deadlines, while maintaining high productivity.

· Excellent verbal, written, and inter-personal communication skills.

· Demonstrate the highest level of professional and ethical conduct.

· Positive, tenacious attitude.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced and sometimes unpredictable environment; works well under pressure and tight deadlines.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

· Ability to comfortably work with software and apps on a desktop, laptop, iPhone, and/or iPad.

· Highly proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and familiarity with Sage, Salesforce, Procore, Bluebeam, and OST is a plus.

· Quick learner and ability to figure things out on your own.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

· Bilingual in Spanish is required.

· Ability to communicate effectively in English and Spanish (verbal and written).

· Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information to effectively execute and achieve results.

EDUCATION:

· Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Landscape Architecture, or a related field or equivalent training, and/or demonstrated experience and knowledge is preferred.

· Landscaping, construction industry experience highly preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time, in a standard office work environment. The position also requires the ability to lift up to 20 lbs., unaided.

In addition, while performing the duties of this position in the field, the position also requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs., unaided, repeatedly throughout the workday. The employee must be able to work in all outdoor conditions: heat, cold, humidity, dust, mud, etc…
