Founding Engineer

I'm working with a YC-backed startup that's pioneering voice AI agents for the legal industry — one of the most complex and high-stakes environments for conversational AI. Their agents handle everything from client intake to case updates, replacing entire admin and intake teams with high-accuracy automation.

They've recently closed a fresh funding round and are building out their core technical team. The founders have already cracked some of the hardest challenges in voice AI — real-time comprehension, legal-specific nuance, and long-tail edge cases — and are now looking for a Founding Engineer to join the team in-person in San Francisco (6 days/week).

What they're looking for:

Experience with voice AI agents or low-latency, production-grade AI applications

2–15 years of experience, ideally at startups or YC-backed companies

Strong CS fundamentals (top 20 computer science programs preferred)

Ability to thrive in a hands-on, fast-moving environment with undefined boundaries

Flexible on stack (they currently use Azure and JavaScript, but open to all backgrounds)
