Title: Project Manager III
Location: Columbus, OH (Position begins onsite but may transition to a hybrid schedule at some point)
Schedule: Mon – Fri, 8:00AM – 4:00PM EST
Note: This is a W2 contract role – C2C & 3rd party candidates WILL NOT be considered
The Project Manager directs, controls, and administers programs and projects within the organization. The Project Manager is ultimately responsible for execution of assigned projects and management of the project team. The Project Manager’s primary responsibility is to drive initiatives from start to finish. The Project Manager must ensure that the program/project is completed on schedule and that the final product meets the established business and quality requirements. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
· Managing the complete lifecycle of projects and/or programs, including initiation, planning, execution, and closure
· Assessing needs of the program and/or organization to generate requirements, proposals, and work products
· Developing a detailed program/project plan, including identification of project needs and definition of tasks and milestones, all based on scope, budget, and resources
· Accountable for the delivery of all work tasks identified in the program/project plan
· Responsible for the capture and reporting of required program/project management metrics
· Ensuring all changes to scope follow established change procedures and are documented
· Accountable for management of scope for the program/project and gaining agreement and approval of scope changes with project sponsor and affected stakeholders.
· Managing and tracking program/project progress against the program/project plan
· Monitoring project milestones and phases to ensure the project is on schedule, taking corrective actions if a project begins to slip its schedule, as needed
· Preparing status reports on a weekly basis for program/project team, project sponsor(s), team leads, group leads, and appropriate stakeholders
· Planning, organizing, prioritizing, and managing multiple work efforts across teams
· Tailoring and baselining all program/project templates
· Accountable to schedule and monitor status reviews, peer reviews, program/project management inspections, and software quality assurance work product and process reviews with appropriate designated resources
· Notifying team leads of project timelines, milestones, phases, work requests, and target dates
· Communicating and working with users, external partners/vendors, and other parties, as necessary
· Overseeing contracts and operations with external vendors supporting the program and organization
· Analyzing and distributing reports on program/project metrics associated with work items
· Accountable for the approval and sign-off of the program/project plan from project sponsor and all affected program/project stakeholders
· Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and project sponsors
· Serving as the primary point of contact for all program/project-related issues and resolution of issues
· Coordinating and presenting proposals to agencies, as necessary
· Identifying and managing program/project risk and develop risk mitigation strategies, and track them to closure
· Anticipating issues and proactively addressing them
· Identifying and tracking issues
· Developing and facilitating achievement of program/project service commitments and performance metrics
· Ensuring that tasks provide value and support the strategic direction of the program/project and meet service commitments, including conducting reviews with stakeholders
· Accountable for the final program/project management evaluation review with stakeholders for approval upon program/project completion
· Communicating effectively with customers and software/hardware suppliers, as appropriate
· Balancing workload with program/project team members’ capacity
· Communicating to team members on how their work assignments relate to and help achieve program/project objectives
· Planning program/project specific training and orientation needs
Position Qualifications:
· 5+ years of Project/Program Management experience
· 5+ years of experience with full lifecycle implementation projects, from requirements definition through implementation
· Strong Microsoft Office Suite programs experience
· Ability to effectively communicate with strong written and verbal communication to all levels of an organization, from front line staff to C-level executives
· Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
· A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field preferred
