Azure Cloud Solutions Architect

Location: Silver Spring, Md (hybrid position) Mostly Remote

Salary: $150K-$170K with full benefits

Clearance: Secret cleared or higher

We are looking for an innovative solution architect to develop and implement systems architecture that will meet business needs. The solution architect’s responsibilities include gathering requirements and functional specifications, assessing the current infrastructure systems in place in order to identify areas in need of improvement. You should also be able to regularly update the company on any developments in systems architecture projects.

Responsibilities

Lead projects that involve the successful management of teams involved in analysis, design, integration, testing, documenting, converting, extending, and implementing automated information and/or telecommunication systems.

Provide As-is /To-be analysis, Analysis of Alternatives (AoA)

Perform day-to-day management of overall contract support operations, possibly across multiple projects and personnel at multiple locations.

Organize, direct, and coordinates the planning and production of all contract support activities.

Provide Strategic consulting and explain complex problems to management in layman’s terms.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in information technology, software engineering, computer science, or related field.

Must have recent experience in Microsoft Azure

Deep technical skills across a broad range of cloud and on-premises platforms, including expertise with Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform, VMware, Hyper-V, Linux, Docker, and/or other container platforms is required.

Experience partnering with senior-level client stakeholders, providing technical thought leadership, and bringing innovation to achieve business needs

Experience in DevOps and related disciplines highly desired.

Advanced knowledge of Agile methodologies (scrum, lean, xp) and cross-functional teams

Working knowledge of Zero trust practices

Proven experience in engineering and software architecture design.

The successful candidate must be flexible with the ability to adapt in a growing organization while undergoing heavy change (Change Management experience and knowledge is a plus).

Previous project management experience is advantageous.

Experience establishing frameworks for systems modernization efforts using integrated DevSecOps toolchains and test-driven development practices

In-depth understanding of coding languages (Java, JavaScript).

Efficient communication skills.

Strong organizational and leadership skills.
