Controller

Our client, a growing PE backed manufacturing company, is located a few miles east of downtown Houston, and they seek a Controller to join their management team. The PE firm is "blue chip" and has an incredible track record and reputation, and they are excited about this business!

Key Attributes:

Must have accounting and finance technical proficiency with a strong attention to detail.

Must have a strong business acumen.

Must have excellent communication skills and a superior ability to lead others and develop relationships.

Must have a fiduciary mindset.

Must have strong project management skills.

Strongly prefer a CPA.

Requires cost and manufacturing accounting expertise.

Big 4 audit experience followed by industry accounting leadership experience is a plus.

Must be "hands-on" in the details.

Experience implementing an ERP system is required.

A strong controls and process mindset is a must. Essential Job Responsibilities:

Lead all aspects of accounting, A/P, and A/R, and treasury for the company including monthly close, preparation of financial reporting packets, and bank reporting and compliance.

Lead accounting and finance components of ERP implementation (target go live dates beginning 1/1/26). Be the primary point of contact for the external ERP implementation consultants for finance and accounting issues.

Work with existing accounting team to learn business and identify areas for optimization post-ERP go live.

Collaborate with tax advisors to ensure adequate withholding estimates and annual filings are completed on time.

Lead annual audit processes.

Assist with bank relationships.

Assist senior management with FP&A activities.

Manage corporate records.

Prepare financial analysis for executive management and board of directors.

Assist with preparation of board materials and associated analyses.

Provide ad hoc support to accounting team and executive management to answer questions and provide guidance on an as needed basis.

Maintain a documented system of accounting policies, procedures, and controls.

Perform ad hoc financial and operational analysis to improve business work flows and optimize business results.
