Position Overview
The SQL Developer is primarily responsible for customer database conversions. Secondary responsibilities will involve report generation.
The ideal candidate will have experience with technical trouble shooting, debugging, and developing innovative solutions to complex problems. This position requires an individual with exacting standards and great attention to detail, who also possesses excellent communication skills and has the ability to effectively collaborate with team members. Knowledge of AIMS or other CMMS software functions and an understanding of Clinical Engineering and Facilities Maintenance processes is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
Database & Query Development
Writing and optimizing SQL queries for retrieving, updating, and managing CMMS data
Developing stored procedures, functions, and triggers to automate tasks
Ensuring efficient indexing and query performance tuning
Report & Dashboard Development
Creating custom reports for maintenance teams, management, and stakeholders
Designing SQL queries to extract meaningful insights from CMMS data
Integrating SQL queries with Dundas or SSRS
Data Analysis & Business Intelligence
Analyzing maintenance and asset performance data to support decision-making
Developing KPIs and metrics for equipment uptime, work orders, and costs
Performing data validation and troubleshooting inconsistencies in CMMS records
Data Integrity & Security
Assisting with database backups and disaster recovery planning
Implementing data validation checks to ensure accuracy and consistency
Supporting role-based access control by enforcing security policies through SQL
Integration & System Support
Assisting with data migrations, imports, and exports between systems
Supporting API integrations that require SQL queries for data exchange
Troubleshooting database-related issues and working with developers to optimize system performance
Required Qualifications and Skills
BS in Computer Science or related degree, and 1–3 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
1–3 years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server (SQL V2008+) writing stored procedures, creating ad-hoc queries, designing and understanding database schemas and analyzing databases of various types and complexities.
Experience with relational database design, analysis and implementation.
Experience with data ETL.
Preferred Skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office.
Experience with non-relational database analysis as well as modern relational databases.
Knowledge of various reporting tools (i.e., SSRS, Crystal Reports).
