Key Responsibilities:
Data Pipeline Design & Optimization:
Lead the design, development, and optimization of enterprise-grade data pipelines, ensuring scalability, reliability, and efficiency in support of organizational data needs.
Architect and implement data solutions leveraging SQL, Databricks (Python notebooks), and cloud-based technologies in Azure, integrating with Salesforce, Tableau, and Power BI, or other platforms as required.
Best Practices & Compliance:
Establish and enforce best practices in data engineering, including data governance, security, and compliance, while ensuring high-performance processing and storage solutions.
Collaborate with stakeholders to implement robust access and security controls, ensuring compliance and data integrity.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Partner with cross-functional teams, including analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders, to understand data requirements and deliver impactful solutions.
Oversee and enhance platform, business intelligence, and analytics integrations, ensuring seamless connectivity with platforms like Tableau, Power BI, and Salesforce.
Technical Leadership & Mentorship:
Provide technical mentorship and leadership, guiding team members in problem-solving, best practices, and continuous skill development.
Drive innovation by researching, evaluating, and implementing emerging data technologies, methodologies, and architectures to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the data ecosystem.
ETL/ELT Optimization:
Optimize ETL/ELT processes and workflows to enhance data accessibility, integration, and performance across the organization.
Develop and maintain robust documentation, facilitate design discussions, and ensure knowledge sharing across the team.
Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED with at least 14 years of experience building and maintaining business-critical EDW and pipelines OR an Associate's degree with at least 12+ years of experience building and maintaining business-critical EDW and pipelines OR a Bachelor's degree with at least 10 years of experience building and maintaining business-critical EDW and pipelines.
At least 5 years of experience with data architecting and engineering in a senior role.
At least 5 years of experience with Tier 1 SaaS integration work (e.g., Salesforce).
At least 5 years of experience working with AppDev and/or BI/AI team members.
Extensive experience with SQL.
Advanced proficiency in programming languages such as Python for data manipulation.
Strong expertise in ETL/ELT tools (e.g., Azure Data Factory).
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms including Azure.
Proficiency in big data technologies (e.g., Databricks, Spark).
In-depth understanding of data warehousing concepts and architectures.
Proven ability to design and optimize custom applications and work effectively with complex, enterprise-grade data platforms beyond off-the-shelf systems.
Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance (e.g., HIPAA).
Experience with performance tuning and optimization for data pipelines and distributed systems.
Proficiency in business intelligence and analytical platforms for data development (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
Associate's or Bachelor's Degree.
This hybrid role is located in RTP, NC, and reports to the office three days a week.
