Process Development Associate – Protein Purification & Cell Culture
This is a CONTRACT role, 1 year with high likelihood to extend for up to 3 years!
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Process Development Associate to support upstream and downstream activities in drug substance process development. This is a hands-on lab role ideal for candidates with strong experience in protein purification and familiarity with mammalian cell culture techniques.
Location: Thousand Oaks, CA (100% Onsite)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM (some flexibility)
Weekend Requirement: 1–2 weekend days/month (approx. 3–4 hours total)
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct purification experiments (filtration, chromatography, UFDF) at various scales
Perform mammalian cell culture in shake flasks, bioreactors, and culture bags
Support automation programming for lab equipment (bioreactors, chromatography systems, robotics)
Troubleshoot equipment and process issues as needed
Design experiments and analyze data using visualization and analytics software
Maintain clear documentation and present results in reports and presentations
Top Qualifications:
Hands-on experience in protein purification required; cell culture experience a plus
Proficiency with data analysis and visualization software (please specify tools used)
Strong attention to detail, teamwork, and communication skills
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including limited weekend support
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree OR Associate’s + 2 years of lab experience OR High school diploma/GED + 4 years of lab experience
