Automation Engineer

Job Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Ansible Automation Engineer to lead day-to-day Ansible development efforts focused on automating and managing infrastructure components such as Apache-based applications, NAS, SMB, and MDS networking environments. While prior experience with these specific technologies is a plus, it is not a strict requirement.

This role is dedicated to Ansible automation, with an emphasis on building, maintaining, and optimizing playbooks and workflows using Ansible Tower/Controller. It does not involve broader DevOps, SRE, or cloud engineering responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks, job templates, and workflows using Ansible Tower/Controller

Collaborate with stakeholders to gather automation requirements and translate them into efficient solutions

Integrate and utilize existing REST APIs within automation workflows

Create and maintain test cases to validate Ansible automation

Participate in Agile development cycles, including daily standups and sprint planning

Provide occasional support during evenings or weekends, as needed

Required Qualifications:

5+ years of experience with Ansible, including Tower/Controller, job templates, and complex workflows

Proven ability to work with REST APIs (utilization, not development)

Strong background in infrastructure automation

Familiarity with Agile methodologies and team-based development

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Python (5+ years preferred)

Background with Apache applications, NAS, SMB, or MDS networking technologies is a plus

Experience working in enterprise-scale automation environments
