Primary Activities/Duties:
Technical Support
On-phone tech support for customers, distributors and Rittal Sales Team
E-mail tech support for customers, distributors and Rittal Sales Team
Assist with the development and maintenance of the Tech Support library, Q&A database and On-line resources
Assist with the creation and development of Tech Support performance metrics
Technical/ Product Training
Provide assistance and support to Training and Development Department on request
Assist with the research and authoring of technical papers, presentations and required sales tools
Solution Engineering Support
Provide assistance with the development of written specifications, technical data and project BOMs
Provide assistance with the development of advanced industry and application presentations/ training modules for Solution Engineers
Other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements:
Sit for long durations of time, up to 8 hours. Work at a computer and keyboard for majority of work time. Stand, walk, bend, twist, and reach frequently throughout the work shift. Occasionally lift to 25 pounds to waist level and above the shoulders.
Mental Requirements:
Work in a fast-paced environment, adapt to assignment changes easily, ability to multi-task, learn office procedures and learn to use new software. Must be detailed oriented with demonstrated project management ability; communicate effectively via oral and written and have the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. Must be a self-starter and be able to work with little or no supervision. Willingness to travel as needed.
Safety Requirements:
Wear safety-toed footwear, safety glasses with side shields, hearing protection and additional personal protective equipment where required.
Direction & Decision Making:
Complete directives given either verbally or written, make and assist in determining logical decisions. Solutions driven person who is willing to work through problems and seek answers to ongoing and challenging requirements.
Relationships:
Direct Contacts: System Consulting Manager, System Consultants, Sales Team, Training Department, Customers & Distributors.
Indirect Contacts: All other departments throughout the plant.
Knowledge & Experience:
Minimum 2-year technology degree (4-year BS preferred) or 3-5 years’ experience in the mechanical/ electrical industry.
Strong technical aptitude and good analytical skills; organized and detailed oriented.
Self-starter, willing to work through and seek answers to ongoing new requirements
Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Experience utilizing Customer Relationship Management and CAD tools is preferred. Work Environment:
Must be able to work in an office and plant floor environment.
