Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Java Developer to join a fast-paced, collaborative team working on the development and deployment of scalable applications within an AWS environment. This is an onsite position based in Reston, VA, ideal for candidates with a solid foundation in cloud-based development, infrastructure as code, and DevOps practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and deploy robust cloud-based applications using AWS services.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and business stakeholders to ensure secure and scalable solutions.
Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated builds, testing, and deployments.
Monitor system performance and optimize applications for speed and scalability.
Ensure applications meet security, compliance, and governance standards.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to infrastructure and application functionality.
Document technical specifications and system designs.
Keep current with emerging AWS tools, services, and industry trends.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
A minimum of 8 years of overall IT experience.
At least 3 years of hands-on software development experience with a focus on AWS.
Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, or Node.js.
Working knowledge of AWS services including EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, and CloudFormation.
Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
Experience with DevOps tools and practices (e.g., Jenkins, Git, Terraform).
Solid understanding of cloud security and compliance best practices.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified Developer.
Experience with serverless architectures and microservices design.
Knowledge of database management and data modeling principles.
