BASIC FUNCTION
The Process Operator will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations for Oil Treating, Produced Water, De-oiling and LACT units within the facility. Also required to manage the tank farm which includes Sales oil, de-sand waste and slop oil.
PRINCIPAL ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIE
Support and comply with the policies, goals, efforts, and programs of IPC's Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Management System. Must ensure HSE issues are given primary consideration in all activities undertaken within area of responsibility.
Ensures the safety of the work environment for all employees.
Follow (SOP) standard operating procedures, including reviews and improvements to existing (SOP’s). Develop (SOP’s) if required and participate in scheduled audits.
Is actively and responsibly involved in the Facility Competency Training program.
Has a full and comprehensive understanding of all the process and safety systems to control the facilities in a safe, effective, and efficient manner.
Responsible for daily housekeeping duties, testing, data collection and shift turnover notes.
Reacts to abnormal situations and process incidents by making prompt and safe adjustments to maintain effective and safe production.
Is responsible for starting up and shutting down required equipment under normal conditions as well as under emergency conditions.
Effectively manages all process equipment as per recommended operating parameters and set points to maintain KPI’s.
Close collaboration with other Unit Operators to ensure a safe, effective & efficient operation.
Reports equipment malfunctions directly to the Shift Lead and the appropriate Maintenance Supervisor’s
REQUIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
Must have a minimum 3rd ABSA Class Power Engineering Certificate
Minimum 3 years’ experience preferably in SAGD.
High school diploma or equivalent
A valid class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record
Minimum Safety Certification in Standard First Aid, H2S Alive, TDG, WHMIS
A consist and positive attitude and highly motivated and seeks continuous improvement.
Mechanical aptitude and strong troubleshooting skills
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The remote location of the facility requires camp based accommodations working a 10x10 rotating schedule, 12-hours per shift (including weekends and holidays). The facility is located approximately 35km North/West of Wandering River, AB. and 240kms NE of Edmonton, AB.
