Gas Distribution Transmission Estimator

Job Description

We're seeking an experienced Gas Distribution Transmission Estimator to prepare accurate cost estimates for projects involving both gas distribution and high-pressure transmission pipeline systems. You'll analyze project documents, perform quantity take-offs, and develop comprehensive cost estimates for materials, labor, and equipment specific to both types of pipelines. This role is crucial for bidding and project planning.

Responsibilities:

Analyze project plans and specifications for both distribution and transmission pipelines.

Perform detailed quantity take-offs for diverse materials and labor.

Develop comprehensive cost estimates for all project aspects, considering the unique requirements of distribution and transmission.

Obtain supplier and subcontractor quotes.

Identify risks and incorporate contingencies.

Assist in bid preparation.

Collaborate with project teams.

Conduct site visits as needed.

Analyze historical cost data.

Utilize estimating software.

Stay updated on relevant regulations.

Maintain detailed estimate records.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).

3+ years of cost estimating experience, specifically with both gas distribution and transmission pipelines.

Strong understanding of construction methods and materials for both pipeline types.

Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.

Experience with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
