An innovative Australian based business that has developed a world-first patented process for stalling the browning enzyme in Avocado, has a manufaturing partner in Gauteng.
They are now recruiting an Equipment Maintenance Coordinator for their processing facility in the southern part of Johannesburg/Heidelberg.
Role and Responsibilities The Contractor must work closely with the Global Operations Manager to deliver on Naturo Operational goals.
The Contractor will be responsible for: Avocado Machine (ATM) Operation, Naturo Slicers and Chopping Machinery- Training, Maintenance & Repairs Machine installation, commissioning and decommissioning (beginning and end of season) Respond promptly to service requests and emergency callouts to diagnose and resolve equipment or system breakdowns, ensuring minimal downtime and adherence to safety and operational standards.
Assist the Global Operations Manager as required with any new equipment manufacturing tasks Reporting daily to Global Operations Manager on ATM and Chopper performance and operation and BS operational and logistics results Working with BS Operations team to drive operational efficiency and reduce waste Working with BS QA team to monitor, report and improve Natavo product quality Working with BS Logistics team to ensure all Naturo orders are supplied in full and on time.
Working with BS Logistics and External Cold Storage for correct loading of containers.
Coordinate with BS Logistics and external cold storage providers to ensure accurate and compliant loading of containers in accordance with operational requirements and scheduling On an ongoing basis, critically assess the safety of the BS Facility Carry out site safety hazard assessments at the Premises Conduct monthly scheduled monthly maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and compliance with safety standards CRITICAL COMPETENCIES Proven experience in food manufacturing and leadership roles (5+ years minimum) Strong mechanical knowledge and experience Strong knowledge of food processing machinery and operational systems Possess a strong communication skills Experience with inventory and operational management tools High level of professional integrity PREFERRED SKILLS Experience in developing and operating preventive maintenance programs Experience working with Industrial PLC systems Additional Notes Exciting opportunity for the right candidate to join an international business scaling a world first Avocado processing technology.
