POSTDOCTORAL ASSOCIATE, Mechanical Engineering, in Professor Evelyn Wang’s group will focus on fast-moving research projects with a combination of fundamental and applied research in the areas of energy, water and thermal-fluid systems; lead graduate students; oversee and guide research in a variety of highly interdisciplinary problems with a core emphasis on heat and mass transfer complemented with materials engineering, and energy applications; and execute independent research projects, mentor students, and support grant writing activities.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED: Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or related field; three to five years of experience in thermal-fluid sciences and systems, with an emphasis on the analysis and experiment; expertise in heat transfer, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, interfacial phenomena, theory and modeling including COMSOL (or other software packages), design and integration of heat transfer and fluidic systems, hands-on systems engineering; robust interest in taking a leadership role in working with and educating a highly motivated and skilled group of students and postdoctoral associates associated with the laboratory; robust organizational and planning skills; and ability to work in coordination and collaboration with multiple research groups and to contribute effectively to cross-functional device development, improvement, and troubleshooting teams.
