ADVANCED PRACTICE PROVIDER – SOUTHWEST GENERAL MEDICAL GROUP (SGMG)
Westside Gastroenterology – Southwest General Medical Group, Inc. specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with disorders of the esophagus, liver, gallbladder, stomach, pancreas, small intestine and colon. Our physicians have years of experience in evaluating and caring for patients with all types of gastroenterological conditions. Our board-certified physicians provide individual care and attention to each patient and combine clinical expertise with advanced technology to provide high quality, compassionate care close to home.
HOURS:
Monday – Friday, 8:30 A.M. – 5:00 P.M., with varied start and end times
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Advanced Practice Provider is a licensed professional who functions independently but provides outpatient care in collaboration with a Gastroenterologist. They plan, implement, and evaluate treatment in accordance with patient care standards and physician orders, as applicable. They act as a liaison between the physician and the patient/family and collaborate with other health care professionals as appropriate. They may assist in the orientation of new employees and may participate in hospital or department committees.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Nurse Practitioner: State of Ohio graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Physician Assistant: Graduate of an ARC-PA accredited physician assistant program. Master’s degree preferred, or eligibility for prescriptive authority under Ohio law.
Required length of experience:
Must have a minimum of two (2) years of experience in a physician's office or hospital setting (experience in the clinical setting a plus); Clinical skills required will be dictated by the scope of services offered. Must have strong organizational skills and communication skills, with the general public, in person and on the telephone.
Experience in the specialty area indicated preferred.
Required licensure, certification, and/or registry:
Nurse Practitioner: Current licensure by the Ohio State Board of Nursing
Physician Assistant: Current PA licensure by the State Medical Board of Ohio
