Description:

A Project Cost Controllor's main duty is to track and control the costs associated with one or more of their employer's projects.

Responsibilities:

Developing monthly, annual, and project lifetime cost forecasts.

Managing contractor project controls deliverables in conjunction with contractual requirements; assembling project financial status reports.

Managing and administering project change control activities.

Communicating project financial performance with upper management.

A Project Cost Controller II may serve as the primary project cost controller on a large project, or portfolio of projects, but may also serve in a supporting role.

Skills:

Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills.

Demonstrable knowledge and experience in the administration and management of project cost control activities and cost forecasting on large-scale construction projects or a large portfolio of projects.

Firm understanding of engineering and construction contracts and adherence to project controls requirements.

Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with upper management and project team members.

Ability to understand and interpret project schedules to effectively forecast project costs.

Proficiency in basic computing skills and the use of Excel spreadsheets.

Experience using SAP is desirable but not required.

Education:

Higher education degree in construction/project management, engineering, business, accounting, or finance is desirable.

Greater than 3 years of experience implementing project controls methodologies on large-scale construction projects or a large portfolio of projects.

Verifiable work experience in cost management and control activities on large-scale construction projects or a large portfolio of projects.

Certifications from PMI or AACE will set candidates apart from others.
