We are looking for a CERTIFIED WELD INSPECTOR for 2nd shift (2pm-10pm)
Job Description
The Certified Weld Inspector (CWI) is responsible for ensuring that all welding activities and finished welds meet applicable codes, standards, and customer requirements. The CWI conducts inspections, reviews welding procedures, oversees welder qualifications, and documents compliance throughout the fabrication or construction process.
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Performs visual inspections of welds and weld joints in accordance with Harsco requirements and specifications and/or AWS/EN standards and/or other relevant codes.
Reviews and approve welding procedure specifications (WPS), procedure qualification records (PQR), and welder performance qualifications (WPQ).
Monitors welding activities to ensure adherence to approved procedures and safety regulations.
Identifies welding defects and recommend corrective actions.
Maintains detailed inspection records and prepare inspection reports for internal and customer use.
Coordinates with production, quality, and engineering teams to address welding issues.
Verifies material traceability and ensure that only approved materials are used in fabrication.
Participates in customer and third-party audits or inspections as required.
Supports continuous improvement initiatives in welding quality and process efficiency.
Ensures calibration and proper use of inspection tools such as gauges, micrometers, and NDT equipment.
Qualifications
Education
Current AWS CWI certification required
High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
Associate or Technical Degree in Welding Technology or related field preferred.
Experience
Minimum of 5 years of experience in welding inspection or quality control in a manufacturing setting.
Thorough knowledge of welding codes and standards (e.g., AWS D1.1 and D1.5).
Experience with visual inspection techniques and common NDT methods (e.g., PT, MT, UT, RT) preferred.
Capable of reading, interpreting, and following engineered drawings.
Strong understanding of welding processes including SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, and FCAW.
Must be capable of using fillet weld gauges, standard measuring instruments,
micrometers and (dial} calipers etc.
Must be able to follow weld map(s) for product identification.
Experience with ISO 9001 or other quality management systems.
Macro-etching experience preferred.

Technical Skills
Basic CMM knowledge and familiarity.
Proficient with MS Office, ERP systems, Data analytics, and process and system
documentation.
