Summary
As an Outage Dispatcher, you will coordinate with System Operators and appropriate supervisors to contact, direct, and dispatch personnel in response to service problems and emergencies. You’ll also be responsible for planning and submitting outage requests, ensuring safety compliance, and supporting efficient operations across substation and distribution systems.
Responsibilities
Plan & submit outage requests for electrical zones of protection in substation and distribution systems.
Prepare and review switch orders to ensure compliance with safety tagging and lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) procedures.
Compile, track, and distribute outage request information to relevant project stakeholders.
Coordinate with Distribution and Transmission system operators for safe and effective use of resources.
Communicate critical information to ensure effective and safe customer responses.
Qualifications
Basic understanding of electrical distribution systems.
Bachelors or Associates degree is preferred, but not required
2+ years of relevant experience if no degree
Ability to work rotating shifts, if and as needed
