About the Role

The VP of Preconstruction is the principal point of contact with the design team and the owner. You will be joining an executive leadership team working with local leaders in the healthcare and life sciences client base. Project markets include healthcare, hospitals, medical facilities, life sciences, labs, higher education and general commercial from the ground up as well as tenant improvement and finish-out.

Responsibilities

Lead the preconstruction effort by collaborating with the design team and owner.

Technology Progressive professional comfortable with leading edge industry technology.

Track record of strong client and subcontractor relationships as well as working closely with architects, engineers, and developers.

Strong ability to manage preconstruction activities while building high functioning teams.

Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills while serving as a leader and team player, providing conceptual and detailed estimates, including value engineering, on complex construction projects.

Interest and ability to attend and engage design/coordination meetings and industry events, as well as developing and maintaining positive relationships with subcontractors, vendors and clients/owners.

Exceptional interpersonal skills and demonstrated problem solver.

Required Skills

Minimum of 10+ years of commercial preconstruction experience or related field experience with a general contractor and/or a major subcontractor. Strong communication and leadership skills.

Local knowledge of healthcare, hospitals, medical facilities life sciences, labs, higher education and general commercial construction.

Demonstrated ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders.

Experience in preconstruction management and value engineering.

Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in construction management, engineering, or related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
