Infrastructure Engineer

Job Summary:

Our client is seeking a Infrastructure Engineer to join their team! This position is located in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Duties:

Manage and maintain Linux-based systems ensuring their reliability, performance, and security

Manage and maintain set of tools such as Ansible and Shell Scripting

Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and performance

Collaborate with development and operations teams to support and enhance the infrastructure

Implement and maintain security best practices for Linux systems

Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and processes

Apply conflict resolution skills to resolve infrastructure issues daily

Manage infrastructure risk, develop mitigation plans, and escalate decisions and unresolved issues daily

Work with peers to develop and drive goals, define technical specifications, and detailed implementation plans for infrastructure projects

Apply skills to impact infrastructure decisions

Focus on the benefits to be realized and the outcomes to be achieved

Desired Skills/Experience:

Self-starter with a ‘learn and apply’ attitude in an intense, fast-paced environment

Experience working with leading stakeholder groups, including technical, product, business, and vendor teams

Experience with Linux system administration and engineering

Excellent communication, collaboration, and documentation skills

Proven track record of managing and maintaining Linux-based systems

Ability to anticipate and manage infrastructure risks and issues with full transparency

Confident, solution-oriented independent worker

Must work independently while managing different sets of business, technology, and vendor stakeholders

Proven problem-solving and organizational skills

Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or Google Cloud

Experience with VMWare

Demonstrated ability in team motivation and delegation
