Position Summary: THE COMPANY is seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Manager of Systems Engineering to lead a team responsible for managing software releases and deployment of third-party applications in a mixed Linux/Windows environment. This role spans the full lifecycle of system delivery—from requirement to retirement—and includes technical leadership, mentoring, automation development, and deep platform engineering.
Salary range is $160K to $190K. *Client will Not accept H1’s or sponsor.

What You Need to Bring to the Table/Requirements:
5+ years of experience with engineering Operating Systems as well as Software Development Engineering, Tools Automation, or similar role in platform delivery
Experience as a people manager or in a team lead role with delegation duties
Degree in engineering discipline or equivalent experience in Systems Engineering / Development
Solid experience coding with any one or combination of PowerShell, Python, Bourne, Groovy, Ruby, etc
Fundamental understanding of the SDLC processes, and tools (GIT, Puppet, etc.)
Experience with automation/configuration management using either Puppet, Chef, Ansible or equivalent
Working knowledge of multi-tiered, highly available, and resilient application design
Working knowledge of horizontal and vertical scaling for performance and high availability
Top-tier critical thinking, analytics, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work in a service-oriented team environment
Strong understanding of project Management, organization, and time management
Customer focus and dedication to the best possible user experience
Ability to communicate effectively with technical or business resources
Understanding of Continuous Integration and Delivery conceptsWhat You’ll Be Doing/Responsibilities:
Lead and mentor a team of engineers supporting platform delivery and automation
Delegate and monitor work across the team, ensuring high-quality output
Design and implement scalable and highly available systems
Automate manual tasks using scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Groovy
Manage full infrastructure lifecycles, including procurement, deployment, and decommissioning
Support 24/7 production environments with root cause analysis and incident resolution
Collaborate with DevOps, QA, Developers, and Operations to streamline SDLC processes
Integrate and test new OS versions, patches, drivers, and tools
Provide technical education and hands-on training across departmentsBonus Points! Otherwise Known As Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with GitOps workflows
Proficiency in Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration
Knowledge of disaster recovery (DR), business continuity planning (BCP), and MFA
Experience with LDAP and SQL (Oracle, MySQL)
