This candidate will be responsible for the development, implementation, maintenance, and improvement of quality assurance processes. Throughout the implementation and maintenance process, this candidate should use data analysis to better understand quality reporting measures and improve processes.
Responsibilities
Participate in design reviews, evaluate primary documents against customer requirements, and define quality, inspection, and special gauge or tool requirements.
Serve on the Change Review Board to ensure the acceptability of changes to primary documents.
Review manufacturing planning to incorporate inspection and test points and determine special gauging requirements.
Develop inspection planning for receiving, in-process, assembly, final, and test inspection.
Design or modify acceptance gauging and approve new gauge designs or modifications.
Conduct hardware non-conformance investigations and follow-up.
Participate in Continuous Process Improvement Teams.
Conduct internal audits of the Quality system.
Participate in and/or facilitate customer and AS9100 registration audits.
Perform trend analysis on product issues and corrective actions.
Review supplier purchase orders, ratings, and corrective actions.
Develop quality plans and collaborate with the Business Unit Manager during the proposal phase.
Support departmental and company training objectives and contribute to the development of Quality Engineers.
Act as the Quality Department Representative on the Material Review Board (MRB).
Take responsibility for customer quality issues on assigned product teams.
Ensure the flow-down of special requirements.
Receive training from the Quality Manager and/or Quality Director.
Write technical procedures and Acceptance Test Plans.
Coordinate and perform First Article Inspections per AS9102.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a closely related field.
Minimum of five years of aerospace industry experience in mechanical, electrical, or quality engineering fields.
Training as an Internal or Lead Auditor is preferred.
Prior leadership experience is also preferred.
Skills, Abilities, and Other Requirements:
Strong analytical and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Familiarity with mechanical and/or electrical inspection techniques and a thorough understanding of AS9100 Quality systems and problem-solving.
Proficiency in quality concepts and systems, particularly root cause/corrective action methodologies such as 8D and 5 Why processes.
Strong technical writing skills and the ability to use products like MS Excel for data analysis and reporting.
Strong team-building and leadership skills.
