At Mentra, we’re building a cloud-based operating system for smart glasses. We need someone who loves infra for bleeding edge tech with crazy bandwidth and latency challenges and can build us a reliable and scalable DevOps setup with a huge cloud budget.

Mentra is building AugmentOS, the open source operating system for smart glasses. Smart glasses hardware has finally reached consumer-ready quality, but the software ecosystem is missing. AugmentOS fills this gap as the app store and SDK for smart glasses. We’re building the OS to power the next 8 billion personal computers and upgrade human intelligence.

We’ve raised from the founder of Android, founder of YouTube, Paul Graham, YC, and others. Our founding team brings deep expertise in smart glasses technology, with 6+ years of experience, 6 months in Shenzhen manufacturing, and roles at MIT Media Lab and Steve Mann's lab (the inventor of smart glasses + smart watch).

We’re building the world’s best smart glasses, and devs can build apps for them. That’s possible because of the cloud OS, and our backend that provides the OS service… the service we need your help to deploy globally.

Day-to-day you’ll be:

Building and managing cloud infrastructure (e.g., currently Azure)

Owning CI/CD pipelines and automating deployments

Setting up observability: logging, alerting, monitoring

Hardening our system’s security (infra, secrets, backups)

Helping build a Vercel/Heroku type AugmentOS app hosting solutions for third party devs

What We’re Looking For

3+ years experience in DevOps/SRE/infra roles

Solid knowledge of cloud infra and IaC (Azure, AWS, GCP, Terraform, etc.)

Experience with Docker + container orchestration (Kubernetes a plus)

Experience with global deployment

Strong understanding of monitoring, uptime, logging, and cost control

Comfortable owning the entire infrastructure setup
