Brief Description

WORK SCHEDULE: Monday-Thursday or Tuesday-Friday, 7am-5:30pm.

ABOUT THE JOB

Performs sub professional, complex technical field and office work in analysis, design, construction and operation of public works projects Work involves being a lead worker directing the activities of lower level technicians and part-time, seasonal or temporary employees and providing technical advice and instruction. May perform any task of lower level classes in this job series in the same or other specialty area. Distinguished from Engineer-Survey Technician II by broader responsibilities, more difficult assignments, and lead work over other employees.

UNDERFILL

This position may be underfilled by a Engineer - Survey Technician I or II. Please refer to the Class Specifications for details.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Engineer - Survey Technician I:

Two years of college course work in civil engineering or civil engineering technology; or two (2) years of varied technical experience in the field of engineering, surveying, drafting, construction, or traffic engineering operations; OR any satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.

Engineer - Survey Technician II:

Two year engineering surveying technology degree and two (2) years engineering or surveying experience; or any equivalent combination of experience, education and training.

Engineer - Survey Technician III:

Four year engineering or surveying technology degree and two (2) years engineering or surveying experience; or any equivalent combination of experience, education and training.

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS

Engineer - Survey Technician I & II:

Must possess and maintain a valid Oregon driver’s license and automobile insurance.

Engineer - Survey Technician III:

Must possess and maintain a valid Oregon driver’s license and automobile insurance. Possession of an Engineer in Training or Land Surveyor in Training certification.
