Clerk-Revenue Protection will perform intermediate clerical support functions for assigned areas such as calculating, researching, compiling, tracking and processing data utilized to prepare various reports; answering telephone and handling calls from irate/hostile customers effectively; dispatching,/entering work orders and routing daily work orders for investigative staff through mobile dispatch; entering time; reviewing accounts for field personnel ordering supplies; posting court-ordered restitution payments; and recording adjustments on CIS system to reverse debited diversion fees.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES\: Answer inquiries to Division employees, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, area police departments and other outside parties concerning account data, metering consumption, usage, etc. Type various reports, correspondence, forms and other documents. Maintain an updated file system. Answer telephone, handle irate customers, give and receive information, and relay messages. May maintain supervisor's and para-professional's schedules and prompt as appointments occur; may operate Division vehicle. Enter/retrieve data utilizing computer software and hardware; order supplies; enter time; enter/dispatch investigative orders utilizing mobile dispatch; and operate various office machines and equipment. May perform bookkeeping functions for restitution payments and revenue received. Perform other duties as assigned.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
Must have a valid driver's license from state of residence.
EDUCATION
High school diploma or General Educational Development (G.E.D.).
EXPERIENCE
Must have experience in software computer applications such as CIS/Banner, word processing, spreadsheet and other specific applications. Must be able to
efficiently use ten-key adding machine/calculator and have knowledge of the various operations of the Division.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Must have successfully completed appropriate Clerical/Secretarial and Training Programs. Must pass Division typing test of 45 w.p.m. Must have
successfully passed customer contact Test. Physical Demands\: Requires sedentary work involving standing or walking for brief periods, exerting up to 10
pounds of force on a regular basis; and some dexterity in operating office equipment. The position requires normal visual acuity and field of vision, hearing and speaking abilities.
