Description

Sanitation Worker – 3rd Shift

Location: Happy’s Potato Chips – St. Anthony, MN

Schedule: Monday through Friday

Hours: 9:00 PM – 5:00 AM

Pay: 20.39 per hour - paid weekly

As a member of the 3rd shift sanitation team at Happy’s Potato Chips, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean and safe food manufacturing environment. This position is physically demanding and requires attention to detail, adherence to safety and sanitation procedures, and a strong commitment to food safety and quality. You will follow Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures (SSOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and company policies to ensure all cleaning tasks are completed efficiently and in compliance with food safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Disassemble, wash, sanitize, and reassemble production line equipment and utensils in accordance with SSOPs.

Clean facility surfaces including walls, floors, ceilings, and overhead pipes.

Safely operate sanitation equipment and follow proper chemical procedures, ensuring correct concentrations for safe use.

Maintain the interior and exterior of the building per the Master Cleaning Schedule.

Adhere to all safety policies, complete safety training, and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Report any injuries, accidents, or unsafe conditions immediately.

Perform general cleaning duties including scrubbing, wiping, vacuuming, mopping, foaming, and hosing down equipment or areas.

Support overnight production as needed by assisting with packaging duties.

Notify the Sanitation Leader or Supervisor of any equipment malfunctions during or after cleaning.

Qualifications:

Prior industrial sanitation experience is a plus.

Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Must be able to follow both written and verbal instructions.

Eligible to operate lift trucks (forklifts, hand trucks, scissor lifts, etc.).

Physical & Safety Requirements:

Lift up to 35 lbs. from floor to shoulder height repeatedly.

Push or pull objects weighing 50+ lbs.

Stand, bend, twist, squat, reach, kneel, and hold static positions for extended periods.

Perform cleaning tasks at heights using ladders, catwalks, or elevated platforms.

Use hand tools such as wrenches, putty knives, and screwdrivers.

Tolerate exposures to odors, noise, dust, heat, cold, and cleaning chemicals.

Wear and use required PPE (rubber boots, aprons, gloves, goggles, face shields, hearing protection, etc.).

Read safety signs, distinguish colors, and identify cleaning needs.

Maintain dependable attendance and complete all assigned tasks within set deadlines.

Work in confined spaces or close quarters when necessary.

Handle, transport, and apply chemicals safely and in correct concentrations.
