Job SummaryThe purpose of this position is to ensure quality oil and gas measurement information is provided to all customers on a timely basis. Customers include operations production and revenue accounting, engineering, royalty management, auditing and third parties. Data integrity is handled by resolving data exceptions, identifying missing or incorrect data, figuring out appropriate corrective actions, and verification of the correct application of sample analysis information. You will be considered an expert and key contact for data resolution and software reliability. This position ensures the accuracy of oil and gas measurement used to determine revenues received by COP.
Position Overview
Your responsibilities may include:
Run FLOWCAL exception resolver daily and work independently to resolve identified exceptions weekly
Will be assigned one or more specific FlowCal software modules and be designated as the resident expert for all associated functionality and vendor support
Maintains and evaluates facility balancing on a weekly/monthly basis
Inform field personnel when making corrections on meter information that requires action on their part and monitoring until resolved
Become main contact with FlowCal software support and our own IT support on resolving software discrepancies
Provide back up support for other Flow Measurement Analyst and assist in ensuring the team meets monthly closing cycle deadlines
Import and evaluate meter proving, meter calibration, and liquid and gas analyses to ensure data quality and conformance with contractual obligations
Work independently while accounting for required volumes and applying specific measurement practices and standards
Recognize volume errors, determine possible sources, and exercise discretion to develop approach for resolution and/or corrective actions
Communicate volume discrepancies to appropriate personnel when necessary and partner for resolution
Validate check versus sales meter comparisons and investigate and provide resolution for any inaccuracies
Ensure all oil and gas measurement data received from Operations is timely and accurate
Notify field personnel when corrections are needed for reports used in tracking their measurement changes and activity
Observe field activity reports and meter testing information to ensure compliance with internal and external regulations, and data accuracy to support overall operational integrity
This position will have final discretion on liquid or gas volume discrepancies between accounting, field, and Flow Analyst for the assigned asset area
Basic/Required:
Legally authorized to work in the United States
1 or more years of Field Measurement Operations, Production, Revenue Accounting, or Measurement Analyst
Beginner proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred:
3 or more years of experience working with FlowCal software
Advanced knowledge of gas and liquid measurement fundamentals and equipment, including various primary and secondary brands and styles
Basic level of proficiency with sample analysis compositions
Basic level of proficiency with data/file manipulation
Thorough knowledge of the ConocoPhillips Measurement Council Policies and Procedures
Understands key business processes and how your role impacts those processes
Ability to perform and explain various mathematical calculations used in calculating gas and liquid volumes
Possess very strong attention to detail
Possess strong verbal/written communication skills
Takes ownership of actions and follows through on dedications by holding others accountable and standing up for what's right
Delivers results through realistic planning to accomplish goals
Builds effective solutions based on available information and makes timely decisions that are safe and ethical
