Pricing Analyst
Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney is a national law firm with a proven reputation for providing progressive, industry-leading legal, business, regulatory and government relations advice to our regional, national and international clients.
We are currently searching for a Pricing Analyst in our Princeton, NJ location, to support our Accounting Department. This analyst will assist with pricing strategy development, analyzing pricing data and trends, preparing pricing proposals, conducting competitive pricing research, and collaborating with various teams within the firm to ensure pricing strategies align with business objectives. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with team members and clients are vital.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Approve the pricing aspects within the client & matter onboarding process and escalating items for review to the Director of Pricing.
Review new and existing client & matters, ensuring firm rates align with engagement letters and communicating discrepancies to attorneys and/or practice assistants.
Develop rate schedules for e-billing submissions to assist the billing department.
Create budgets for fixed fee and estimate budgets in Matter Budget Tool as needed.
Handle rate change requests, determine rate exceptions, and create rate groups.
Develop pricing proposals and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
Gather, organize and verify data (via SSRS, SQL and Excel) essential to rate schedules, monthly exception reports, pricing evaluations and special projects.
Create ad hoc reports using SSRS, 3E and Excel as requested by various attorneys and senior management.
Update the Matter Budget Tool regularly to track and analyze fixed fee arrangements and budget performance.
Generate monthly and yearly reports, simplifying those reports for attorney convenience and collaborating with attorneys to discuss rate strategies.
Collaborate with Billing department on all pricing related matters.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors’ Degree in a related field, such as Business, Finance, or Economics.
Four or more (4+) years’ experience in an analytical role, preferably in a finance department.
Knowledge of SQL and/or Cube Environment a plus.
Strong knowledge of MS Excel, including Pivot Tables.
Analytical and problem solving skills.
Ability to perform at a high level of effectiveness, in a fast paced environment, managing multiple competing priorities simultaneously.
Strong attention to detail.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Team player with the ability to work overtime as required.
