We are looking for a seasoned Hardware Systems Engineer (SE3) to lead mission-critical systems engineering efforts with a special focus on hardware and FPGA technologies. This role offers the chance to apply deep technical expertise, shape the direction of key engineering projects, and collaborate with both technical teams and top-level stakeholders in a dynamic, high-stakes environment.

What You’ll Do

Analyze user requirements, concept of operations, and system architectures to develop precise system requirements

Lead design and development efforts, ensuring strong alignment between requirements, design, and technical solutions

Provide expert guidance to users in formulating requirements and exploring alternative approaches

Conduct feasibility studies to assess the best paths forward for complex technical challenges

Deliver technical leadership on integrating new plans, designs, and systems into existing operations

Develop detailed technical documentation, including system architecture and design materials

Support system development and implementation planning, including creating engineering management and integration/test plans

Serve as the key technical point of contact for systems engineering issues, collaborating with government stakeholders, program teams, and senior leaders

Ensure the technical integrity of all work and deliverables within the systems engineering domain

What You Bring (Required)

Active TS/SCI clearance with full-scope (FS) polygraph

Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related field (an additional five years of SE experience may be substituted for the degree)

Twenty (20) years of experience as a Systems Engineer on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity

Proven experience in planning and leading major systems engineering efforts

Strong expertise in hardware engineering, including knowledge of field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs)

Experience with ModelSim for VHDL or Verilog HDL coding and simulations

Familiarity with Xilinx tools for FPGA development

What’s Nice to Have (Desired)

Experience with software programming languages such as Java, C, C++, or Ruby on Rails

Familiarity with operating systems including Unix, Linux, or Windows
