Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Logistics Coordinator to join our team in Avon, Ohio. This Contract-to-Permanent position plays a vital role in managing transportation logistics, overseeing drivers, and ensuring operational efficiency within a fast-paced wholesale distribution environment. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with team members to optimize processes, resolve issues, and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise company and seasonal drivers, ensuring adherence to company policies and operational standards.

• Coordinate daily work assignments, truck routing, and scheduling to maximize efficiency.

• Manage inbound and outbound shipments, including third-party services, shuttle operations, and inter-company logistics.

• Address and resolve delivery issues, including trailer and loading concerns, in a timely manner.

• Ensure fleet maintenance is up to date and maintain compliance with required documentation and records.

• Prepare load confirmations for brokers and carriers, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

• Collaborate with the Transportation Manager to optimize transportation strategies and cost efficiency.

• Oversee compliance with trip and fuel permits for multi-state operations.

• Maintain driver files, including medical certifications and other essential documents.

• Act as a backup for the Administrative Assistant and Traffic Manager to ensure seamless operations during their absence.• Proven experience in logistics coordination or a similar role within a fast-paced environment.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with FileMaker and Great Plains is preferred.

• Strong organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail.

• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with diverse teams and stakeholders.

• Skilled in problem-solving and capable of interpreting written, oral, and diagrammatic instructions.

• Knowledge of business systems, CRM, and ERP solutions is an advantage.

• Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities efficiently.

• Strong interpersonal skills to foster collaboration and accountability across teams.
