Our client is looking for a highly motivated candidate with a minimum of four years of on the job experience in the structural design industry.

Successful candidates will have an opportunity to work on all aspects of structural design for a variety of project types including custom single family homes, institutional buildings, multi-family housing, small commercial buildings, and building restoration.

Practical design experience in the design of all building materials, including steel, concrete, masonry, and wood is required.

Candidates will be offered the opportunity to expand upon their Engineering toolbox, experience, and communication skills.

The primary responsibilities will include the following:

Completing analysis and design of the structural system, including the gravity and lateral force resisting systems as well as foundations for building projects.

Communicating with clients and contractors to ensure the expectations of all are met.

Performing site visits to document existing conditions or administer construction phase services.

Preparing construction documents in AutoCAD or redlines to be used by others to create the structural construction documents.

Communicating with senior staff to ensure work is completed on time and within project budgets.

Following the design guidelines set forth by Innovative Structural Engineers.

Requirements:

Bachelor of Architectural Engineering or Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with a structural focus.

E.I.T. is required, P.E. is preferred.

Strong communication skills.

A minimum of four years of relevant experience both in designing buildings and designing with the building materials listed above.

Familiarity with building codes and materials standards (e.g. IBC, IRC, AISC, NDS, ASCE, ACI).

Extensive working knowledge of AutoCAD and the Microsoft Office Suite.

Working knowledge of RISA, Enercalc, and BlueBeam Revu.
