Hiring for Picker and Packer role in Carlstadt, NJ

Job Description

As a Picker and Packer, you will play a crucial role in our warehouse operations by scanning location and pallet license plates using scanners and voice equipment, picking products according to the Warehouse Management System (WMS). You will operate various equipment to pick items from different floors and manage picking operations divided by zones. Your responsibilities will also include palletizing and wrapping items, organizing and replenishing racks, and maintaining cleanliness before and after shifts.

Responsibilities

Scan location and pallet license plates using scanners and voice equipment.

Pick products according to the WMS from the 1st floor to the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floors using appropriate equipment.

Palletize and wrap picked items.

Organize and replenish racks by moving pallets as per instructions.

Prepare and complete orders for delivery or pickup according to schedules.

Unload goods, materials, or cargo from vehicles onto the floor or designated storage area.

Move and bring freight to designated warehouse locations.

Store unloaded pallets to the designated locations using a scanner connected to WMS.

Classify products, including frozen, refrigerated, and dry items.

Merge multiple pallets into a single pallet with the same products.

Transfer same-day shipping pallets to the loading dock as per instructions.

Clean containers and surroundings after unloading.

Load prepared pallets onto trucks as instructed.

Operate equipment such as High Row and Electric Jacks to move and unload pallets.

Maintain cleanliness of the work area before and after work.Essential Skills

Proficiency in using RF scanners.

Experience in picking, packing, and inventory management.

Flexibility with work schedules.

Ability to work with steel toe boots.Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience working in a warehouse environment.

Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively.

Work Environment

The work environment is a warehouse setting that includes cold fridges and very cold freezers. Employees must wear steel toe boots and dress in layers to ensure safety and comfort while working.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Carlstadt, New Jersey.Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $16.00/hr.
