Robert Half is partnering with a Manufacturing client in Northern Colorado on a Controller role. It is a dynamic and growing small manufacturing company located in Northern Colorado. With a strong commitment to quality and customer satisfaction, we are looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented Controller to oversee our accounting operations and help drive financial success.
Job Summary:
The Controller will be responsible for managing all aspects of the company’s financial operations, including full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and work-in-progress (WIP) accounting. This is a key leadership role that reports directly to ownership and collaborates closely with operations and executive management.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including A/P, A/R, payroll, job costing, and inventory accounting.
Maintain accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reporting.
Prepare monthly financial statements and variance analysis.
Manage and monitor Work-in-Progress (WIP) reporting and revenue recognition.
Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management processes.
Maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure GAAP compliance.
Coordinate with external CPA for annual tax filings and audits.
Develop and implement process improvements for greater efficiency and accuracy.
Supervise and mentor small accounting staff or serve as a stand-alone accountant depending on company size.
This role is 100% in office and reports to the CFO. To be considered you must live in the Colorado.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or job-costing environment.
Strong experience with Work-in-Progress (WIP) accounting and full-cycle accounting.
Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite, or ERP systems).
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
CPA preferred but not required.
Hands-on and adaptable; comfortable working in a small company environment.
