Job Description
As a Machine Operator/Machine Operator Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of production machinery. Your responsibilities include operating machines, checking computer calibrations, performing minor preventative maintenance, and loading and offloading products. Your attention to detail and commitment to safety are essential in maintaining high-quality standards and efficient production processes.
Responsibilities
Operate production machinery according to established procedures.
Check and calibrate computer systems to ensure accurate machine settings and operations.
Perform minor preventative maintenance tasks to keep machinery in optimal condition.
Monitor product quality and compliance with specifications, conducting necessary quality tests.
Report any defects, anomalies, or malfunctions to the operator or supervisor.
Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Support the operator in daily tasks, including adjustments, machine startups, and regular operations.
Ensure proper labeling, identification, and disposal of rejected products.Essential Skills
Proficiency in computer operations as machines are fully automated and operated using HMI screens.
Ability to handle labor-intensive tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Comfortable with rotating 12-hour shifts, including holidays and weekends.
Experience in industrial or labor-intensive industries such as concrete, asphalt, and construction.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in machine operation and general labor.Work Environment
The work environment is indoor and non-climate controlled. The position requires openness to a 12-hour rotating shift between day and night, allowing for 15 days off per month due to the schedule. The dress code includes steel-toed boots, jeans, a T-shirt, a safety vest, and PPE.

This is a Permanent position based out of Ashland, Virginia.Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $57630.00 - $68157.00/yr.
In a steady growing industry (turning recycled product into cardboard boxes). Many employees/supervisors moved from one of their northern plants o the Richmond Plant. Will have a steady supervising unit.
