Job Description
Cronin Collision Center continues to grow and we are in immediate need of an Automotive Paint Prepper. This individual will be responsible for preparing vehicles for refinishing and assisting the Paint Technician with their work. Duties include sanding, masking, priming vehicle parts and keeping the Paint Technician aware of work progress.
Duties/Responsibilities
Assist Paint Technician by preparing vehicles and parts for painting using proper techniques, equipment and materials.
Remove grease, dirt, paint, or rust from vehicle surfaces in preparation for paint application
Apply paper and masking tape to protect non-painted surfaces
Denib/Buff dirt nibs and paint imperfections
Masking, spraying and blocking of primer application
Work with the paint team to deep all vehicles on schedule fro on-time delivery
Maintain all tools and equipment, keep workspace organized and clean
Disassemble, clean, and reassemble sprayers and power equipment
May help with general maintenance of paint booths
Other duties as assigned
Experience/Skill Requirements
Prior automotive painting and refinishing process experience a plus
Prior paint-prep experience preferred
High School diploma/GED preferred.
Collision Tech Graduate a plus
I-CAR or ASE refinishing certification a plus
Ability to receive direction and work well with others
Valid Driver license and insurable driving record
Physical Requirements
Ability to stoop, bend, squat, kneel and pull
Extended periods of kneeling, bending, squatting and stooping
Carry and lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs)
Standing, sitting, walking
Performing repetitive motions
Visual acuity for color matching
