Join United Way for Southeastern Michigan as our Financial Strategy & Compliance Analyst, where you will play a pivotal role in supporting projects that lead our financial strategies within the nonprofit sector. Would you be a great Financial Strategy & Compliance Analyst?

You would display a strong ability to set priorities, take initiative, manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines independently, have strong project management skills and experience convening with cross-functional teams to achieve a common goal. You will also succeed if you are very detail oriented and effectively work independently. Some of your responsibilities would involve collecting, processing, and analyzing large datasets to identify trends and patters and will involve collaboration with cross-functional teams to translate those data findings into actionable insights.

Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary to provide clear and meaningful status updates to the Director, Financial Strategy & compliance and to external stakeholders as needed. In time you will understand and track the full financial picture of key programs (i.e. incoming revenue and cash, procurement and payables) while attending weekly, monthly, and/or quarterly collaboration meetings with external and internal stakeholders to understand specific program requirements. The skill of problem solving with a customer service focus will aid in a variety of additional tasks.

Knowledge & skills required for the position are:

A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related concentration

2-5 years of experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, variance analysis, data structure, and working with business stakeholders within and across functions

Ability to analyze and solve complex business processes and data sets

Possess a deep understanding and advanced capabilities of Microsoft Office 365, including advanced excel, database queries, Power Automate, etc. and BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, etc.
