Job Description
A privately held 30 year old building material supplier located in West Palm Beach is looking for Accounting Manager to focus on Payroll and Benefits to join their team and grow into a Controller role. This position will have two direct reports in the Payroll manager and Benefits Administrator.
What You'll Be Doing:
Lead and supervise a team of two in processing weekly payroll for all employee types, including salaried and hourly staff.
Oversee expense reporting platforms (currently Concur) and generate analytical reports as required.
Administer 401(k), health, and voluntary benefit programs.
Collaborate with the digital transformation team on the transition of HRIS to Workday and general ledger systems to IFS.
Ensure vendor compliance with payroll tax filings, garnishments, benefit deductions, and other withholdings; remain up to date on relevant payroll and benefits regulations.
Prepare and reconcile payroll-related general ledger entries and accounts.
Produce internal and external payroll reports, including headcount summaries, labor cost analyses, and audit documentation.
Maintain accurate and well-organized payroll records and supporting documentation.
Manage payroll systems (currently Paycom, transitioning to Workday) and coordinate with IT and HR for system improvements.
Partner with HR, finance, and benefits teams to ensure accurate data integration and prompt resolution of issues.
Support internal processes such as compensation adjustments, benefits enrollment, and organizational restructuring.
Assist with internal and external audits by providing required payroll data and reports.Experience You Bring to the Table:
Bachelors Degree in Accounting
5+ Years of Experience in Payroll and Benefits Accounting and Compliance
Strong in GAAP
