*** The job is on-site with a HYBRID ( 3d office / 2d home ) work schedule. Candidates must be local or willing to relocate within commuting distance of [ Pittsburgh PA, Cleveland OH ( Strongsville ), Dallas TX ( Farmers Branch ), Phoenix AZ, Birmingham AL ]

Kubernetes Containerization Engineer :

Design, develop, and maintain container images within Kubernetes for a hosting platform

Collaborate with architects to build out the Big Data Next Gen Containerization platform

Create proof of concept implementations and build new images for various services

Develop fully containerized solutions to replace components in the existing monolithic platform

Implement and optimize Hadoop infrastructure components in containerized environments

Automate image creation and deployment through CI/CD pipelines

Containerize Big Data services including Spark, Trino, and Iceberg

Develop container migration strategies for existing services

Document containerization processes and best practices

Required Qualifications (Skills, Experience, Education, Certifications) :

Minimum 8+ years of experience in software engineering or platform engineering – no recent college graduates ( at least 4+ years of full time experience in USA )

Strong experience with Kubernetes, particularly in container image creation and management

Knowledge of CI/CD pipeline implementation and management

Experience with Big Data technologies including Hadoop, Spark, Trino, and Iceberg

Ability to design and implement containerization strategies for complex distributed systems

Experience migrating monolithic applications to containerized microservices

Familiarity with container orchestration and deployment patterns in production environments

Experience with monitoring and troubleshooting containerized applications
