Operator, Hand Spin

Job Description

Produce parts by setting-up and operating manual spinning lathes and by using rollers and lever tools as necessary; spin and trim parts to print specifications. Maintain quality and safety standards; keep records; maintain equipment and supplies.

Principal Responsibilities:

Plan, understand, and interpret drawings, specifications, material and operating instructions before and while running operations and equipment

Produce and inspect parts against drawings specifications within time allotted; ensuring product meets specified quality standards

Use precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, and fixtures/gauges to check work to drawings

Verify initial product quality checks and complete all processing operations

Update related paperwork (work orders and in-process inspection sheets) upon completion of tasks

Select proper roller and stationary tools to produce parts to print

Maintain proper thickness requirements as specified by inspection record or print

Ability to stand and operate machinery throughout the duration of shift, except for scheduled breaks

Ability to lift required objects with or without assistance, turn, load/unload required objects

Demonstrate safe work habits

Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and orderly manner

Maintain current, overall, and job specific trainings and requirements

Assist in other departments as needed

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Educational Requirements:

Excellent communication skills (oral and written)

Detail Oriented

Manage time with little to no supervision, self-motivated

Foundational understanding of machining techniques, interpretation of geometric dimensions and tolerances with the ability to turn a range of components on a lathe

AS9100 Quality compliance, understanding, and commitment

CNC (conversation and G&M code) Milling experience

High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred

Minimum three (3) years of experience
