Job Description:

As a Sales Trainee Associate, you will embark on a structured training program designed to familiarize you with all aspects of our business operations. This hands-on role will involve rotating through key departments such as the warehouse, shipping & receiving, delivery, inside sales, customer service, and front counter sales. Over time, you will gradually take on more responsibility and begin to work directly with our customers at their locations to perform vendor-managed inventory counts and take orders based on current needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Warehouse: Assist with inventory management, stocking, and order fulfillment to gain a foundational understanding of product flow and stock organization.

Shipping & Receiving: Learn the processes for incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries to customers.

Delivery Driver: Support the delivery team and learn safe driving practices, logistics, and customer delivery protocols.

Inside Sales/Customer Service: Respond to customer inquiries, process orders, and provide quotes. Develop strong communication skills by working with customers via phone, email, and chat.

Front-Counter Sales: Interact directly with walk-in customers, take orders, and provide product recommendations based on customer needs.

Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) and Onsite Customer Support: After completion of the initial training period, begin visiting customer locations to perform regular inventory counts and take orders based on customers’ current needs.

Key Attributes and Skills:

Attention to Detail: Ability to work accurately and ensure all aspects of the order fulfillment, inventory, and customer service processes are precise.

Customer Service Focus: Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with customers and provide exceptional service, both over the phone and in person.

Patience & Problem Solving: Ability to listen to customer concerns and issues with patience, using your problem-solving skills to resolve them effectively.

Adaptability: Willingness to take on new challenges and work across various departments to gain a well-rounded understanding of the business.

Teamwork: Collaborate with colleagues across departments to ensure smooth operations and positive customer experience.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Previous experience in customer service or sales is a plus but not required.

Ability to lift and move products as needed (occasionally up to 50 lbs).

Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record for potential delivery duties.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Ability to work overtime as needed to meet customer demands.
