Express Employment Professionals is looking to hire Small Engine Diesel Mechanic for a company located in Manor, Texas that rents, sells, and services industrial equipment, including, pumps, vacuum-loaders, hoses, pipes, and other accessories. Our client serves municipal, refining, petrochemical, and other industrial customers.
Typically, their industrial pumps are used for water transfer solutions. Their pumps may be used for emptying out ponds, lakes, ditches, and drains.
Pay Rate: $24.00- 28.00/HR depending on experience.
Location: Manor, TX.
Work Schedule: Monday- Friday 7:00 am- 4:00 pm, and on-call periodically. (Typically, a 40 - 45 hour work week)
Job Summary:
A small engine diesel mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining small diesel-powered engines used in a variety of equipment. This role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of John Deere, Cummins, and Catapillar diesel engine systems.
Tools for the yard must be furnished by the candidate. If the candidate does not have all the tools needed to complete routine maintenance/repairs, they may use the tools from the company truck.
Key Responsibilities:
~Inspection and Diagnosis: Perform thorough inspections of small diesel engines to identify mechanical issues.
Use diagnostic tools and software to pinpoint problems and determine necessary repairs.
~Repair and Maintenance: Repair or replace faulty parts, including filters, fuel systems, electrical components, and engine parts. Perform routine maintenance, such as oil changes, lubrication, and cleaning of parts. Adjust and tune engines to ensure optimal performance.
~Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and services performed. Prepare reports on the condition of equipment and recommended actions.
~Safety and Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations regarding the disposal of hazardous materials.
~Tools and Equipment Management: Maintain an organized workspace and keep tools and equipment in good working order.
Qualifications:
Technical or vocational training in diesel engine repair or a related field is preferred.
Experience:
Proven experience as a diesel mechanic on small engines specifically John Deere, Cummins, and Catapillar
Strong understanding of diesel engine systems, including fuel injection, cooling, and electrical systems.
Skills: Proficient in using diagnostic tools and repair equipment.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Working Conditions:
Typically work in repair shops, garages, or outdoor settings.
May involve exposure to loud noises, fumes, and hazardous materials.
Standard working hours with potential for overtime during busy periods.
