Lamination Operator
Job Responsibilities
Mix adhesive according to formulas
Inspect the first piece
Set up and operate machine according to procedures
Maintain cleanliness of machines and adjacent work area to SQF standards
Utilize satellite containers for hazardous waste
Report quality issues to Laminator Operator I and/or manager, supervisor, group leader for analysis and/or remedy
Verify correct calculation of needed amount of adhesive for job
Verify what impression rollers are needed for four hours and cut/or resurface to specifications
Assist the operator with adding adhesive, changing raw material rolls, and other substrates
Operate machine for break coverage
Participate in Sonoco’s Performance System (SPS) activities as required – 5Star, Pillar Teams, Audits, Near Misses, etc.Essential Skills
6+ months of machine operating experience
Experience lifting up to 50lbs per day
Ability to read, write, and speak English
Adherence to safety protocols when loading and unloading products
Willingness to learn and grow within the roleWork Environment
This role operates in a 500,000 sqft facility where safety is a top priority. The facility is extremely clean, well-organized, and adheres to GMP standards. The work may involve getting dirty and dealing with odors during production while working with adhesives. The environment requires safety shoes, hair nets, ear plugs, and safety glasses. The departments include print, lamination, slitting, warehouse, and maintenance. The facility has a strong tenured workforce and has recently invested in new machinery with additional capital expenditures planned. The breakrooms have been updated with new self-serve vending processes.

The pay range for this position is $20.44 - $22.44/hr.
