Job Description
The Manufacturing Quality Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring that products meet industry standards by inspecting, testing, and measuring materials and products. This position involves maintaining detailed records and collaborating with various departments to resolve quality issues effectively.
Responsibilities
Aid in the functioning of the Manufacturing quality program, including quality procedures, processes, standards, training, planning, and documentation.
Review drawings and fabrication documentation for discrepancies and assist in determining the proper quality procedures and processes to apply.
Monitor internal and external quality and adherence to designated manufacturing processes, documentation, and procedures.
Assist in monitoring and verifying weld procedures and weld qualifications.
Perform product quality inspections, including receiving, fit-up, in-process, and final inspections.
Document all inspections in detail using individualized inspection forms.
Provide quality direction to craftsmen, supervisors, and managers to complete assigned projects accurately and on time.
Assist in directing rework of projects and ensure quality workmanship standards.
Assist in identifying and resolving non-conformances following proper protocols and procedures.
Assist in training and guiding employees in quality techniques and processes.
Assure quality control of assigned projects and follow methods of continuous improvement.
Ensure compliance with applicable AWS codes as determined per project.
Maintain calibration of shop tools and document calibration reports.
Ensure a clean and organized workspace and adherence to safety policies.
Ensure measuring devices, gauges, and instruments are calibrated and certified.
Work independently and travel for project quality completion as necessary.Essential Skills
High School Diploma or equivalent.
1-3 years of manufacturing/fabrication inspection experience required.
Experience with welding techniques such as GMAW, FCAW, MCAW, SAW, GTAW, and SMAW in short circuit and spray transfer processes.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret blueprints.
Proficiency in using tape measures, squares, levels, micrometers, dial indicators, weld gauges, and various basic calibration standards.
Ability to identify beam, angle, channel, plate, and other materials by size, thickness, and type.
Strong communication skills and ability to provide leadership and feedback.
Capability to perform and teach quality welding techniques at an advanced level.
Self-motivated with the ability to lead by example.Additional Skills & Qualifications
5 plus years of welding and fabricating experience preferred.
Possess excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
Must be a task-oriented team player with initiative.
Valid driver's license with no restrictions.

Work Environment
The position is located in a fab and weld shop environment, with exposure to temperature extremes, hazardous or moving equipment, loud noises, and crowded environments. Employees may be required to work at elevations up to 60 feet and lift up to 50 pounds. Non-exempt and part-time employees may be asked to work extra hours, with overtime compensation for hours worked beyond 40 hours a week.
