Job Title: Machine Operator/Machine Operator Assistant
Job Description:
Join our dynamic team as a Machine Operator/Machine Operator Assistant and be a key player in our production process! You'll operate state-of-the-art machinery, ensure precise computer calibrations, perform minor preventative maintenance, and handle product loading and offloading. Your keen eye for detail and dedication to safety will help us maintain top-notch quality standards and efficient production.
Responsibilities:
Operate cutting-edge production machinery following established procedures.
Calibrate computer systems for accurate machine settings and operations.
Perform minor preventative maintenance to keep machinery in peak condition.
Monitor product quality and compliance with specifications, conducting necessary quality tests.
Report any defects, anomalies, or malfunctions to the operator or supervisor.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Support the operator in daily tasks, including adjustments, machine startups, and regular operations.
Ensure proper labeling, identification, and disposal of rejected products.
Essential Skills:
Proficiency in computer operations, with experience in fully automated machines using HMI screens.
Ability to handle labor-intensive tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Previous experience in industrial environments preferred, especially in labor-intensive industries like concrete, asphalt, and construction, are encouraged to apply!

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $57630.00 - $68157.00/yr.
Cascades is located in Doswell on what is called Bear Island (not an actual island). It is a very large papermill that Cascades has put over 450 million invested in it. The facility is very nice and stays clean. They have a ton of room to grow and great benefits that we tend to see Canadian owned companies have. In a steady growing industry (turning recycled product into cardboard boxes). Many cascades employees/supervisors moved from one of their northern plants to work for Bear Island. Will have a steady supervising unit.
